A dark song written and recorded alone in the house, one cold snowy December night, with the help of a bottle of cheap whisky, and cans of strong lager.
Played it back the following day, to decipher the lyrics, which to my horror, realised it was about lying in my coffin.
lyrics
Dark is the night, take me home, feeling afraid, I don't belong here.
It's always so cold, tell me why, something strange going on.
Give me your hand, reassure me, the distant lights, are always out of reach.
What have I done, I pray to God, I'll pay my dues, just take me home.
I never knew there was a place like this.
I don't think anybody here exists.
Missing my friends, no one's here, my clothes are damp, and I feel insecure.
I'm chained to a post, gasping for air, and I can't cope with this.
I yearn for a life, and the family I love, never will I see, I cry out in pain.
There's no escape, my senses are failing, I can't even die, I'm already there.
I never there was a place like this.
I don't think anybody here exists.
